Job Description

Are you ready to take your expertise as a cardiovascular technologist to new heights. Join our team as a Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) in Louisiana and play a vital role on a cardiac catheterization team that values your clinical skills while offering varied procedural experience. Support physicians and Cath Lab personnel performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, operate advanced imaging equipment, and contribute to patient safety and workflow efficiency.
What You'll Need:
Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology program, an associate degree in a healthcare-related field, or equivalent. Radiography (R) by ARRT or equivalent state modality licensure.
Louisiana state licensure required:
LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTB. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. Experience in an acute care cath lab environment preferred. 0-1 year acute care experience indicated as preferred by the client. Experience with diagnostic and interventional heart catheterizations, structural heart procedures (TAVR, Watchman), electrophysiology, peripheral angiograms and interventions preferred. Familiarity with cath lab equipment including fluoroscopic imaging, hemodynamic monitoring systems, contrast injectors, IVUS, ICE, intra-aortic balloon pump, rotational atherectomy, thrombectomy, and LVAD support preferred. One of the following certifications preferred: RCIS (CCI), RCES (CCI), RCS (CCI), CI/CV/VI (ARRT), RDMS
AB/OB/GYN, RDCS
(AE), or RVT (ARDMS). These are preferred, not required.

Prior cath lab experience and familiarity with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures preferred by the client. Ability to perform fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition and to serve as radiation safety representative during X-ray use. Willingness to work on-call shifts as required. Client indicates on-call coverage includes nights, weekends, and holidays per department scheduling (8-10 on-call shifts including weekends and holidays as noted by the client).

The region is within about 1-2 hours drive of statewide parks and wildlife management areas offering boating and fishing, and is also within typical regional travel times to larger metropolitan centers for additional museums, music venues, and dining. The local lifestyle is a blend of suburban and regional urban amenities with a strong culinary and music heritage. Role Summary The Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I supports cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the lab, operating imaging and hemodynamic equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient data and hemodynamic measurements. The technologist maintains aseptic technique, supports patient positioning and safety, and collaborates with the procedure team to optimize patient care and departmental efficiency. The role serves as the radiation safety representative during X-ray use and requires ongoing competency development with cath lab technologies. Key Responsibilities Perform daily room checks, stock supplies, and ensure major equipment is operational with required documentation. Prepare and configure rooms and equipment for diagnostic and interventional procedures, including structural heart, EP, and peripheral interventions. Enter and verify patient and procedural information in cath lab computer and imaging systems. Record hemodynamic measurements and ECG recognition during procedures. Support physicians during procedures by anticipating needs, scrubbing when required, and ensuring aseptic technique. Operate fluoroscopy and digital image acquisition systems and act as radiation safety representative during X-ray use. Assist with patient transport and access site management as needed. Participate in unit-based councils, process improvement initiatives, and training/competency activities. Education and Experience Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Acute care cath lab experience preferred. Client lists 0-1 year acute care experience as preferred. Licenses and Certifications BLS (AHA) required. ACLS (AHA) required. State licensure required based on modality.
