Cardiac Echo Technologist / Cadiac Sonographer / Echo Tech - Ultrasound Services/Sonographer + Minneapolis, Minnesota + salary + Unavailable + Hours per week + 40 + Shifts + 5/8s + Start Date + Unavailable + Duration + 52 weeks + Job Number + 1099 GhostRx is hiring a Cardiac Echo Technologist (Cardiac Sonographer) to join the Cardiology Section at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, providing non-invasive cardiac imaging to the Veterans who served our country. You'll perform transthoracic echocardiograms using M-mode, 2D, 3D, and Doppler modalities; assist cardiologists with TEE and stress echo studies; calculate quantitative measurements per ASE guidelines; and archive studies to PACS and VistA Imaging. Portable bedside exams in the ICU, CCU, and ED are part of the role, along with routine equipment QC and TEE probe disinfection logging. We're looking for a graduate of an accredited DMS or cardiovascular technology program with current RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) registration, active BLS (ACLS preferred), and hands-on
TTE, TEE
assist, and stress echo experience. U.S. citizenship and English proficiency are required per 38 USC §7402(d). If you're a credentialed echo tech who values mission-driven work and serving those who served, apply today. •Qualification and Requirements•+ Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) or Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) program (CAAHEP/JRC-DMS preferred). + Current RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) registration required. + Active BLS certification required; ACLS preferred. + Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on echocardiography experience in a hospital or large cardiology setting. + Proficient in
TTE, TEE
assist, stress echo (exercise and pharmacologic), and contrast-enhanced studies. + Skilled in quantitative measurements per American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines. + Working knowledge of PACS; CPRS and VistA Imaging experience a plus. + Familiarity with IAC Echocardiography accreditation standards. + Ability to recognize and escalate critical findings such as tamponade, aortic dissection, and acute valvular failure. + U.S. citizenship and English proficiency required per 38 USC §7402(d). + Must pass federal background investigation and pre-employment drug screen. + Able to transport portable echo equipment, stand for extended periods, and assist with patient positioning. + Prior VA or DoD experience preferred. •Responsibilities•+ Perform complete transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) using M-mode, two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and Doppler ultrasound modalities to capture diagnostic-quality images of cardiac structure and function. + Assist cardiologists with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), stress echocardiograms (exercise and pharmacologic), and contrast-enhanced studies, including patient monitoring throughout each procedure. + Adapt scanning technique to accommodate patient-specific variables such as limited mobility, body habitus, prosthetic devices, surgical hardware, post-operative dressings, and atypical thoracic anatomy. + Identify, document, and bring to the reading cardiologist's attention findings indicative of valvular disease, wall motion abnormalities, congenital defects, pericardial effusions, intracardiac masses, and other clinically significant pathology. + Calculate ejection fraction, chamber dimensions, valve areas, pressure gradients, and other quantitative measurements in accordance GhostRX, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
