1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist with 1+ years of clinical experience and ARRT (R) or
CCI RCIS
certification to support interventional and diagnostic cardiac procedures. Details Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab, including EP lab services Cardiovascular disease patient population Average caseload of 7 cases per day Procedures include cardiac catheterizations, PPM implants, and peripheral angiographies Uses Philips X-ray, Impella, balloon pump, and Acist injector equipment Charting completed in EPIC and Merge 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM Call requirements of 9 shifts per month, including Monday-Thursday call 5p-6a and one weekend per month (Fri 5p-6a, Sat/Sun 6a-6a) Required to float within skillset based on facility needs Requirements Minimum of 1 year clinical experience required BLS certification required ARRT (R) or
CCI RCIS
certification required Active NJ or Compact state license required at time of consideration if applicable Proficiency with cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, and Impella insertion Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and stent placement Skilled in EKG lead placement, hemodynamic monitoring, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias Experience maintaining sterile field and scrubbing for procedures Epic charting experience preferred Additional Information Responsibilities include equipment set up, prepping access sites, and maintaining/stocking supplies Exposure to a wide range of procedures including renal angiography, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays First-time travelers are accepted for this position Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have a minimum 1-year break in service before being eligible for travel assignments RTO requests must be submitted and approved prior to receiving an offer; changes after placement cannot be accommodated
