Category Nursing - CVOR Tech Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting advanced cardiovascular and thoracic surgical teams as an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist. This contract position is essential for ensuring optimal patient care and surgical outcomes. As a key member of the operating room staff, you'll uphold the highest standards of sterile technique and patient safety, working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals.
Schedule Options:
Five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week (7:00am-3:30pm or 7:00am-5:30pm) Rotating call: 1-2 call shifts weekly (13.5 or 15.5 hours) Weekend call: 1-2 weekends per month (24-hour Saturday and 24-hour Sunday shifts)
Qualifications:
Active NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist certification required BLS certification required Proven cardiothoracic experience (CABG, valve replacements, VATS, robotic chest procedures) Ability to work in general OR if cardiothoracic volume decreases Thorough knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control practices
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all phases of perioperative care Anticipate and assist surgeons with gowning, gloving, draping, passing instruments, and managing operative field organization Perform accurate counts of sponges, tapes, needles, dissectors, and instruments Assemble, maintain, and care for surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after cases Collaborate with operating room staff to ensure a safe environment and troubleshoot equipment or procedural issues Handle and identify surgical specimens according to policy Contribute to efficient case turnover and assist in other operating room duties as assigned Act as a resource for both new and experienced OR staff Advance your career in an innovative and supportive surgical team environment.
