Hour First Shift Responsibilities & Requirements:
The Lead Cath Lab serves as a clinical and operational resource for the cardiac catheterization laboratory team, guiding complex procedures and supporting high-quality, safe, and compassionate patient care. This role provides informal leadership, technical expertise, and workflow coordination to ensure efficient operations and adherence to regulatory standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program. R equired
Education:
Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or closely related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience as permitted by state law.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
Required Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology lab setting.
Preferred Work Experience:
At least 1 year of informal or formal leadership, precepting, or team lead experience in a cath lab environment. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Ohio Radiologic License if applicable. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications, or obtained within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
 Lead and assist in the performance of complex cardiac and vascular catheterization procedures, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.  Guide, mentor, and precept cath lab staff and new team members, supporting skill development and best practices.  Coordinate daily workflow and case assignments to optimize team efficiency and patient throughput.  Troubleshoot equipment and procedural issues, escalating concerns as needed to technical or clinical leadership.  Monitor and maintain a safe, sterile, and prepared environment in accordance with infection control and safety standards.  Serve as a clinical resource for staff, providing technical expertise and procedural guidance during cases.  Support onboarding and orientation of new employees, including training on equipment, policies, and procedures.  Participate in quality assurance activities, including data collection, process improvement, and compliance with accreditation standards.  Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to facilitate coordinated patient care.  Ensure accurate and timely documentation of procedures, supplies, and patient information in the EHR.  Advocate for patients and families by providing education, reassurance, and support throughout the care process.  Maintain required certifications and participate in continuing education to remain current with advances in cath lab practice
