True Job Description:

As a member of the health care team, performs non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing including M-mode echocardiograms, 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional Sector scans, Cardiac Doppler, Colorflow Imaging, and measurement of Ejection Fraction by echocardiogram on patients who are adolescent, and adults at UTMC. Assists the physician in the performance of Transesophageal Echocardiograms. Performs Stress Exercise Echocardiograms in the Heart Station with the Stress Laboratory personnel. Maintains digital computer system. All employees must adhere to the following at all times: Employee is expected to adhere to UTMC Service Values including iCare standards at all times. by following the Morse Fall Scale to assess all patients for their risk of falling. 2. Adheres to

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Education/Experience/Licensing:

Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or higher relevant degree required or ten (10) years of experience in performing Echocardiograms. Must be registered for five (5) years and have performed Echocardiograms for five (5) years after being registered. The work experience must be recent, relevant and proficiency in independent performance of exams documented. Experience in school will not be counted. Computer knowledge required. AHA/CPR certification required in Basic Life Support Health Care Provider course identified by the Heart Station/Cardiology Clinic policy. Experience in non-invasive cardiology preferred.

Communication and other skills:

Must be able to be on-call and work independently when called in. Must be able to be on-call and be in to the hospital within 1 hour when called in.

MAY UNDERFILL WITH CARDIAC SONOGRAPHER 1

Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or higher relevant degree required Must be registered in Adult Echocardiography through ARDMS or obtain within six (6) months of hire. Computer knowledge required. AHA/CPR certification required in Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Experience in non-invasive cardiology preferred.
