Job Description

  • Responsibilities
  • + Set up and operate CNC lathes, typically running one machine at a time, from start to finish for each job.

+ Machine large blocks, weldments, and plate work on 2-axis CNC lathe equipment.

+ Program CNC lathes using Mastercam to create and modify programs for a variety of parts and materials.

+ Read and interpret blueprints and prints to determine machining requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.

+ Use digital and standard manual micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to perform in-process and final quality checks.

+ Perform visual inspections on finished parts to verify quality and conformance to specifications.

+ Drill and tap holes as required by part designs and job specifications.

+ Change and adjust tooling as needed, ensuring proper tool selection and setup for each operation.

+ Adjust speeds and feeds on parts to optimize machining performance and surface finish while maintaining tolerances.

+ Use basic computer applications to track progress of parts, record job information, and update production status.

+ Work with G-code and M-code on CNC controls, including Fanuc and Haas systems, as needed.

+ Support 3-D machining operations and work with various CNC milling and lathe configurations (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis) as required by the job shop environment.

+ Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures.

  • The pay range for this position is $28.00
  • $35.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
