Job Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots equipment effectively and places service calls to Biomedical when necessary.
Anticipates procedure flow and works with other team members to produce the highest quality care.
Provides a safe environment and identifies hazards immediately. Follows unit protocols to take corrective actions as needed.
Demonstrates proficiency in imaging modalities in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology such as digital, laser printing, and cut film.
Showcases an advanced knowledge of sterile techniques while assisting and supporting interventional radiologists during procedures.
Demonstrates proper technique for injection of IV contrast, or other test-enhancing solution, under the guidelines of the American College of Radiology (ACR).
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
Licensure - Registered Nurse Upon Start If the team member doesn't possess one of the above registries, the team member must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Start; Registered in one of the following: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Radiologic Technologist Vascular Interventional Radiology (RTR VI), Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular (RTR CV) or Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular Interventional (RTR CI) required. Unless at least 5 years of Interventional Radiology Tech experience with active RTR registry, OR a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. If a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, must also have their Registered Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) upon hire.
Experience - One year of experience in interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit.
Education - Associate Degree Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and /or Graduate of an accredited, school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
