Job Overview Seeking a compassionate and dedicated female mentor for an adult female with higher functioning autism. Client lives independently and has a relieable vehicle, cooks and cleans on her own. Must be willing to drive with client on her errands etc when needed. Must be able to go on walks with client weather permitting. Client enjoys long walks and talks about her life, interests, health, food, and is passionate about dogs, although she does not have one yet. Work is part time, 2 to 4 days a week (10:30 AM - 12:30PM) including Saturdays and Sundays. Duties Assist client with daily independant living skills and problem solving. Provide guidance and support to enhance social skills that promote independence. Implement behavior management techniques to address challenges and encourage positive behaviors. Facilitate activities that promote social interaction and skill development. Driving client not neccessary but may be needed on occasion. Qualifications Experience in direct care in the therapeutic and / or mental health field preferred but not mandatory. Good communication skills and being able to read a situation is needed. Strong and patient communication skills. Knowledge of behavioral health principles and behavior management strategies is a plus. A clean personal background is required.
