Care Coordinator- Tier 1 General summary of duties: The Care Coordinator
- Tier 1, under the supervision of the Front Office Operations Manager, is responsible for providing administrative support to physicians, nurses and other clinical staff. The Care Coordinator
- Tier 1 will be responsible for managing the inbound and outbound patient referral process, assuring that all required documentation is received prior to the patient's appointment and scheduling new patient appointments.

Front Office Operations Manager Job qualifications: 2 years medical office experience in a physician's office or equivalent combination of training and experience 1 year of customer service work experience or equivalent combination of training and experience Working knowledge of secretarial procedures, organizational policies and procedures, systems an office management practices Knowledge of physician business office procedures Skill in identifying and resolving problems Ability to exercise a degree of initiative and judgment Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public Ability to read, write and communicate effectively orally and in writing Proficiency in the operation of a computer and other office equipment Sit for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach; occasionally bend, stoop and stretch Ability to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment Occasionally drive to other locations Maintain a current and valid driver's license Duties and responsibilities: Manages incoming and outgoing referrals Sorts incoming faxes Pull off and address voicemails Assists with patient portal Sends outgoing imaging orders Sends outgoing referrals Address telephone encounters assigned to referral Address documents assigned to referral Scan documents into patients' chart via fax inbox or scanner Abide by billing alerts and communicate with billing and prior authorization staff when necessary Performs selected clerical and administrative duties, and assists staff/ physicians as part of the care team Responds to patient communications and transfers calls or delivers complete messages to the appropriate individual per practice protocol Participates in educational activities and programs Prepares for and reports at meetings as required Maintains office supplies, and notifies management of problems Maintains strict confidentiality; and treats staff, physicians, patients and visitors with respect Assembles charts/records for new patients and prepares charts/records for scheduled patients; requests patient information from outside sources as needed Responds to patient communications and transfers calls or delivers complete messages to the appropriate individual per practice protocol Review details and expectations about the referral with patients. Assist patients in problem solving potential issues related to the health care system, financial or social barriers (e.g., request interpreters as appropriate, transportation services or prescription assistance). Ensure that referrals are addressed in a timely manner. Verifies insurance/benefit coverage Schedules appointments and ensures patients receive appointment reminders, hospital procedures and/or surgeries following office protocol; advises medical staff and patients of scheduling changes; and maintains a record of physician schedules and days off to avoid scheduling conflicts Assists in managing the patient referral process Maintains strict confidentiality; and treats staff, physicians, patients and visitors with respect Performs other related work as required Work environment: The work of this position is performed in an office environment. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public.Job Type:
