Director, Laboratory •$10,000 Sign-On Bonus•Memorial Health Memorial Health is seeking an experienced Director of Laboratory to provide strategic and operational leadership for our Core Laboratory departments. This role is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished laboratory leader who is passionate about quality, team development, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional patient care. Position Overview The Director of Laboratory plans, organizes, and directs the administrative and clinical operations of the Core Laboratory departments. This leader is responsible for ensuring laboratory services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Medical Director and other organizational leaders, the Director oversees laboratory operations while supporting a culture focused on quality, collaboration, continuous improvement, and service excellence. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and strategic direction for the administrative and clinical operations of the Core Laboratory departments. Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure high-quality, timely, and efficient services. Lead and support laboratory leaders and colleagues while promoting employee engagement, accountability, and professional development. Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets and resources. Partner with the Medical Director to coordinate the delivery and advancement of laboratory services. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, safety, and quality standards. Lead quality improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance laboratory processes, efficiency, and patient outcomes. Collaborate with clinical, operational, and organizational leaders to ensure laboratory services effectively support patient care needs. Support the effective use and optimization of laboratory information systems. Education Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field required. Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field preferred. Licensure/Certification Certification as a Medical Technologist, MT (ASCP), or equivalent certification required. Experience Ten or more years of experience across multiple phases of laboratory medicine required. Minimum of five years of supervisory or management experience in a highly complex laboratory environment required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to develop and engage high-performing teams. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Strong understanding of laboratory operations, quality standards, and regulatory compliance. Working knowledge of laboratory information systems required. Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical leaders, and other key stakeholders. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to balance strategic priorities with the day-to-day operational needs of a complex laboratory environment. Pay:
$51.87 - $82.99 per hour
