The Director provides leadership for operational, staffing and service functions of the lab. Works in partnership with the Lab Director. Focuses on workforce leadership, workflow efficiency, service quality and cross department collaboration for both inpatient and outpatient services. The Director ensures the lab operates with high levels of staff engagement, patient satisfaction and efficiency while supporting regulatory compliance and quality standards.- Masters degree
- 5 years clinical experience
- 3 years leadership experience
- Knowledge of laboratory regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP, The Joint Commission)
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Proven ability to manage conflict and foster a collaborative work environment
- Experience monitoring operational metrics and leading performance improvement initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated expertise in laboratory operations, quality management, and patient safety
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and strategic laboratory initiatives
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and regulatory excellence
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and healthcare technology, as applicable
