Summary:

The Manager, Laboratory Services is to provide day-to-day supervision or oversight of the laboratory operation, personnel performing testing and reporting test results, purchasing of supplies and equipment, quality control, performance improvement, scheduling, productivity, performance review, and financial management of the laboratory.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or the successful completion of an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician) - CLIA Standard; Testing personnel qualification 42CFR493.1423 for moderate complexity testing and 42CFR493.1489 for high complexity testing. High School Diploma or equivalent.

Licenses and Certifications:

Certification by the ASCP, AMT, AABB or other organization deemed comparable; or MT (HEW) certification through a Health Education and Welfare Academic and Sciences Program. This position if working in Tennessee is required to possess State of Tennessee Medical Laboratory Supervisor license. Johnson City Medical Center Technicians performing Clinical Trial testing must meet the State of New York Department of Health Part 58-1 of 10 NYCRR Clinical Laboratories Standards 58-1.5, duties and qualification of clinical laboratory technical personnel.
