Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Lab Assistant for a Contract with a client in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in lab management, automated testing, inventory control, and Mac OS environments, with strong Excel and organizational skills.
Rate Range:
$38/hour to $40/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Lab Assistant Job Responsibilities include:
Manage laboratory operations, including lab space allocation, layout planning, inventory control, and expansion activities to support testing and engineering teams. Maintain accurate inventory records for devices, parts, test equipment, and consumables, performing regular audits, cycle counts, and lifecycle management. Set up, organize, and support automation test racks and test environments, ensuring proper equipment installation, labeling, and documentation. Execute automated test scripts, collect test results, and update dashboards and reporting tools with accurate testing data. Coordinate with QA, Systems, Facilities, and Operations teams to procure equipment, manage lab upgrades, support infrastructure needs, and maintain efficient lab operations. Develop and enforce lab processes, safety procedures, inventory tracking standards, and equipment disposal practices while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered. 3+ years of experience in lab management, inventory management, test lab operations, or QA/engineering support environments. Hands-on experience managing lab inventory, test devices, equipment lifecycle management, automated testing environments, and Mac OS-based systems. Strong proficiency with Excel (including pivot tables and data analysis), inventory tracking, networking fundamentals, and experience with automation tools or scripting technologies such as Python, Bash, Ansible/AWX, or Splunk preferred. Pay Details:
