Full Job Description JOB MOS Codes:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science or higher in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related field and five (5) years of experience working in a chemistry laboratory performing analytical tests on environmental, biological or multi-matrix samples including two (2) years of laboratory supervisory experience; or five (5) years of experience working in a medical or biological public health laboratory performing diagnostic or public health testing on human specimens including two (2) years of laboratory supervisory experience.

Licenses and Certificates:

Registration as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (MT (ASCP)) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by the National Credentialing Agency. CLIA High Complexity-General Supervisor qualified within one (1) year of appointment. Class C Driver's License or equivalent from another state.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Under general direction, oversee, plan, supervise and manage City of El Paso's Department of Public Health laboratory operations and ensure laboratory compliance with applicable regulations.
