What they do

A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

Job Description

The ideal candidate is ARDMS registered and has at least one year of work experience. Candidate must be able to work independently and perform the following exams (although training is available):
General:
Abdomen Aorta (AAA screening) Hernia Appendix Renal Bladder/Prostate Renal arteries
Small Parts:
Breast Thyroid Testicular Musculoskeletal (lipomas, lymph nodes, masses)
Peds Hips OB/GYN:
Pelvic/Transvaginal 1st trimester OB OB anatomy scan ("level one") Follicle counts
Vascular:
Lower extremity venous/arterial Upper extremity venous/arterial Carotid Renal arteries Candidate should be comfortable using a computer to process exams and worksheets and access PACS. This is an outpatient imaging center; we do not perform interventional procedures, and there is no call.
