A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

- Performs testing and test procedures according to established policies and guidelines
- Interprets quality control results and instrument function
- Completes scheduled preventive maintenance duties
- Provides assistance and guidance involving repairs, validations, and function checks and works with vendors as appropriate
- Collects blood specimens, etc. from laboratory outpatients
- Assists and completes investigations involving unexpected or adverse outcomes and keeps documentation according to regulatory guidelines Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree with major in Medical Technology or related science required .
Experience:
- Less than one year. License(s)/Certification(s):
- Certified as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by Board of Registry of ASCP or equivalent due upon hire or within one (1) year from date of hire required .
