Lead Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist Ozarks Healthcare
• Lab West Plains , MO Professional Full Time , Days , 4-10s Days Req # 9313 Ozarks Healthcare is seeking an experienced Chemistry Lead Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist to provide technical leadership within our Laboratory department. This position performs and oversees laboratory testing, supports quality and regulatory requirements, troubleshoots instrumentation, and serves as a technical resource and mentor for laboratory staff. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform and oversee chemistry testing, including manual and automated procedures. Monitor quality control, calibrations, and equipment performance. Troubleshoot automated analyzers and assist with resolving testing issues. Serve as a technical resource for Chemistry staff and assist with training and competency activities. Assist with evaluating and communicating abnormal or unusual patient results. Support Proficiency Testing and regulatory compliance activities. Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and hospital policies and procedures . Provide general supervision to students and staff in training. Perform waived, moderately complex, and high-complexity testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Immunology, Microbiology, Toxicology, and Transfusion Services. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
Doctorate, master's, bachelor's, or associate degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of laboratory experience .
Certification:
Registry/certification as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT or CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) . Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Participation in required on-call, call-back, and holiday rotations.
