A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.
GeneID is a high complexity molecular Next Generation Sequencing laboratory providing a variety of molecular testing. As a Clinical Laboratory Reporting Specialist , you will be responsible for reviewing and releasing clinical lab reports to physicians, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be critical in helping our lab deliver reliable, precise, and timely results.
Responsibilities:
Review Lab Results:
Thoroughly review lab reports for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to protocols before they are released to physicians and healthcare providers.
Release Reports:
Ensure timely release of patient reports to the appropriate providers and physicians in a secure and efficient manner.
Quality Control:
Maintain the quality of reports by performing final checks, ensuring all necessary information is included, and resolving any discrepancies.
Compliance:
Ensure all released reports comply with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and the lab's standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Collaboration:
Work closely with lab technicians, lab directors, and other clinical staff to clarify any discrepancies or additional information required for report completion.
Documentation and Records:
Maintain accurate records of all reports released and ensure proper documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., Medical Laboratory Technology, Health Information Management, Biology, Genetics).
Experience:
At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, medical office, or healthcare environment preferred.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with medical terminology, laboratory processes, and diagnostic testing is highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
