CENM Healthcare, a service-disabled veteran-owned healthcare staffing agency, is competing for a multi-year federal laboratory staffing contract in Memphis and is selecting its proposed team now. Work is expected to begin in April 2027. This gives interested candidates the opportunity to be considered for the team well before the anticipated start date. What you'll do: Perform high-complexity testing on blood, urine, spinal fluid and tissue. Run quality control and maintain laboratory analyzers. Verify results and communicate critical values to physicians and nurses. Perform microbiology cultures and susceptibility testing. Handle blood bank work, including typing, antibody screens and crossmatches. What we're looking for: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science, or in biology, chemistry, microbiology or a related field.

National certification is required:

MLS/MT (ASCP) or MT (AMT). A Tennessee license by itself does not meet the certification requirement. Candidates must live within 75 miles of Memphis and be able to provide three professional references. Selected candidates will need to meet the federal medical center's onboarding and credentialing requirements before starting work, including applicable BLS, TB screening, Hepatitis B documentation and background/security requirements. Shifts may be up to 8 hours and may include evenings, nights and rotating weekends. Previous VA or federal hospital experience is a plus. This will be a W-2 position with competitive hourly pay. Schedule and hours will depend on the facility's needs under the contract.

Benefits:

If the contract is awarded, benefits will include 11 paid federal holidays, paid sick leave (up to 56 hours per year), and paid vacation (2 weeks after one year of service), plus health and welfare benefits or an equivalent hourly cash payment as required under the federal Service Contract Act.
