Phlebotomist, Memphis, TN Join the proposed phlebotomy team for a multi-year federal medical center contract in Memphis. CENM Healthcare, a service-disabled veteran-owned healthcare staffing agency, is competing for a federal laboratory staffing contract in Memphis and is selecting its proposed team now. Work is expected to begin in April 2027. This gives interested candidates the opportunity to be considered for the team well before the anticipated start date.

What you will do:

Perform venipuncture, capillary punctures and finger sticks. Verify patient identity using two identifiers and review laboratory orders to follow the correct order of draw. Label specimens at the bedside. Help patients feel at ease during collection and monitor for adverse reactions associated with blood collection. Centrifuge, separate and store specimens for testing. Keep collection areas clean, organized and properly stocked.

What we are looking for:

Phlebotomy experience in a hospital or clinical setting. Relevant national certification is preferred but not required. Candidates must live within 75 miles of Memphis and be able to provide three professional references. Selected candidates will need to meet the federal medical center's onboarding and credentialing requirements before starting work, including applicable BLS, TB screening, Hepatitis B documentation and background/security requirements. Shifts may be up to 8 hours and may include evenings, nights and rotating weekends. Previous VA or federal hospital experience is a plus. This will be a W-2 position with competitive hourly pay. Schedule and hours will depend on the facility's needs under the contract.

Benefits:

If the contract is awarded, benefits will include 11 paid federal holidays, paid sick leave (up to 56 hours per year), and paid vacation (2 weeks after one year of service), plus health and welfare benefits or an equivalent hourly cash payment as required under the federal Service Contract Act.
