Job Description

Job Requirements Position Summary As identified nurse leaders, the Nursing Clinical Educator is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating standardized education for all nursing staff covering multiple campuses and units within SRHS. The Nursing Education department provides staff support and education through 24/7 coverage. The Nursing Clinical Educator designs, develops, and implements standardized education to all nursing associates in all patient populations. The Nursing Clinical Educator incorporates evidence-based practice through onboarding, Transition to Practice Nurse Residency, new and continuing education, and simulation scenarios/skills-based learning. The Nursing Clinical Educator uses clinical expertise to collaborate with the healthcare team to support frontline nursing staff ensuring patients receive the highest quality, patient-centered care. The Nursing Clinical Educator utilizes clinical expertise to improve staff knowledge and patient outcomes. Associates are encouraged to support Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's involvement in the community we serve. We are looking for someone with Women's and Children's experience to fill this role. Minimum Requirements Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Experience Bachelors prepared RN with at least 3 years of experience as a bedside RN License/Registration/Certifications Unrestricted nursing license permitting practice in South Carolina

Preferred Requirements Preferred Education N/A Preferred Experience Women's and Children's experience as an RN Preferred License/Registration/Certifications N/A Core Job Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement standardized education to all nursing associates in all patient populations Onboard all nursing associates including the following job codes: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Patient Care Technician, Student Nursing Associate, Transitional Nursing Resident, Monitor Tech, Unit Ambassador, and Companion Verify new associate clinical access and oversee all learning management modules and assignments Lead workflow documentation courses to teach nursing curriculum and documentation in the HER Oversee curriculum development and planning for the Nurse Residency Transition to Practice program for the new graduate nurse. Facilitate Transition to Practice Population Specialty Pathways Manage and coordinate Quality Improvement Projects within the Transition to Practice cohort Develop, plan, and facilitate Charge Nurse course for staff development Develop, plan, and facilitate Preceptor Pathways for staff development Coordinate and perform new associate rounding including skills validations for new nursing associates Complete Unit specific rounding to address - just in time - education needs Schedule and lead mock medical emergencies through simulation on units with multidisciplinary healthcare disciplines to provide immediate staff feedback and learning opportunities Develop downtime documents and network communication tools for front-line staff and ancillary departments Oversee Agency Nurse Onboarding and Clinical Orientation Tools Lead Nursing Student Clinical Orientation, Onboarding, Training, and Fit Testing Simulation (High-Fidelity and Basic) development for hands-on training and skill validation Serve as a nursing leader and mentor throughout orientation, onboarding, and continued education Provide coaching and feedback in a timely manner to nursing associates and nurse leaders Develop and lead system wide education competencies for all nursing associates, while meeting regulatory requirements Collaborate with all ancillary departments to oversee go live of new products, processes, and technologies Participate and support success of regulatory readiness surveys Utilize various technologies to develop curriculum to meet the needs of the adult learner Creation and ongoing updates for orientation validation tools, immediate education, and competency documents Implement evidence-based practices throughout onboarding and continuing education Create and lead nursing education classes, competencies, and blitz/roving education Collaborate with ancillary departments to provide standardized education for quality patient care Collect, monitor, and analyze nursing quality indicators to identify trends and education needs Identify opportunities for improvement and knowledge gaps within the practice of nursing Serve as an expert resource to front-line staff 24/7. Must be in good physical condition and able to withstand the stress and demands of an active position. Must be able to withstand many long hours of standing, walking, stooping, bending and sitting. Manual dexterity, good eye/hand coordination and acceptable vision and hearing needed in daily work. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, the public and other agencies. Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situations.
