Job Description
Location Bangor, Maine Employment Type Part Time Work Arrangement Community / Field Based Schedule Up to 20 hours per week, primarily during afternoon and early evening hours. Benefits Eligibility Limited Eligibility Compensation $17.33-$22.53 per hour Job Overview Penquis is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) to work with children and young adults through hands-on skill building and community-based support. This role focuses on helping clients build confidence, practice daily living skills, and develop greater independence through interactive activities and outings. Responsibilities Use games and activities to teach directions and healthy emotional responses. Use video clips and other tools to practice non-verbal communication skills. Support community outings that build safety skills and positive friendships. Teach money skills and independent community interactions during errands and outings. Practice meal planning and cooking skills with clients. Help clients learn self-soothing strategies and how to ask for help. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Maine driver's license in good standing with reliable transportation and automobile insurance. Access to a cell phone or smartphone. Ability to meet Penquis background-check requirements upon hire and periodically thereafter, with satisfactory results as required by current contract provisions.
