Job Overview Seeking a motivated and outgoing Peer Support Worker to work with an individual located in the Johnstown area. In this role, you will support the individual in creating community connections, building peer relationships, and social engagement. The Peer Support Worker position is a part-time position for 8-10 hours a week and requires the following availability:

• Monday to Thursday, (2) 4 hour shifts between 1pm
• 6pm•Every other Saturday from 10am-12pm The ideal candidate… Is eager to try new things and open to sharing ideas Enjoys spending time in the community and promotes community engagement Is adaptable and flexible Has a person-centered attitude and encourages independence Job Perks Competitive pay Mileage reimbursement Flexible schedule Responsibilities Provide supports in the individual's home and within the community Assist the individual in building community and increasing community engagement Guide the individual in building age-appropriate friendships and building social skills Foster independence and an environment that is supportive of the individual meeting their personal goals Ensure the health, dignity and safety of the individual Complete daily service notes through accurate documentation of activities and support provided Collaborate with family members and other support staff to best meet the needs of the individual Qualifications 1-2 years of professional and/or personal experience working with individuals with autism and/or other intellectual or developmental disabilities 1-2 years of professional and/or personal experience in a support and/or caregiving role Job Requirements A valid driver's license Reliable transportation CPR and First Aid certified Criminal background check

Pay:

$18.00 per hour
