Peer Support Supervisor/Clinical Director Position Summary Sigma Health Services is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) to join our behavioral health team. The Peer Support Specialist uses their lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to empower individuals in achieving their recovery goals. This role works collaboratively with Tailored Care Managers (TCMs), therapists, psychiatrists, and community providers to support members in improving their overall health, wellness, and independence. This position is primarily remote; however, staff are expected to attend scheduled in-office meetings, trainings, supervision, and check-ins as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide person-centered peer support services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders. Build trusting relationships while promoting hope, recovery, self-advocacy, and independence. Collaborate closely with Tailored Care Managers to receive referrals, coordinate services, and ensure members receive comprehensive care. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate regularly with Care Managers regarding member progress, barriers, and service needs. Assist members in developing recovery goals and identifying strengths. Support members in accessing community resources including housing, employment, education, transportation, food assistance, healthcare, and social supports. Provide education on wellness, coping skills, recovery planning, and community integration. Accompany members to appointments, community activities, or other recovery-related services when clinically appropriate. Encourage engagement in treatment and assist members in overcoming barriers to care. Complete all documentation accurately and within agency and Medicaid timeframes. Maintain productivity expectations and comply with all Medicaid documentation requirements. Protect member confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable state and federal regulations. Participate in supervision, trainings, quality improvement activities, and staff meetings. Required Qualifications North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification in good standing. High School Diploma or GED required. Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery that meets NC CPSS requirements. Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care principles. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with supervisors and the treatment team. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Basic computer proficiency including electronic health records, Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting platforms. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with Medicaid members. Experience in behavioral health, community mental health, or substance use services. Familiarity with Tailored Care Management, NC Medicaid, and community resources. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Transportation Requirements Reliable personal transportation is required. Valid North Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Current automobile insurance. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area to meet members in the community, accompany members to appointments, and attend required in-office meetings and trainings. Work Environment Primarily remote/community-based position. Regular travel within the assigned service area. Required attendance at scheduled office meetings, supervision sessions, trainings, and agency events. Flexible schedule that may include occasional evenings based on member needs.
