Job Summary We are seeking a motivated master's-level social work intern completing required field placement hours toward an MSW or closely related graduate degree. This internship is ideal for a student interested in maternal mental health, community-based social work, program development, and gaining hands-on experience within a growing maternal wellness organization. The intern will work directly alongside the founder and gain practical experience in community assessment and outreach, program planning and development, resource coordination, maternal health initiatives, and connecting women and families with community-based supports . Interns will also develop greater knowledge of CAP (Community Administration and Policy) and how social work practice, advocacy, programming, and community partnerships intersect to address gaps in maternal health. Depending on academic requirements, experience level, and appropriate permissions, the internship may also include limited opportunities to observe or participate in aspects of clinical practice, including virtual or in-person therapy sessions when appropriate. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate student seeking a hands-on placement that extends beyond traditional clinical practice and provides exposure to the development and operation of a growing maternal wellness organization dedicated to improving support and outcomes for mothers and families. Responsibilities Assist with the development, coordination, and evaluation of maternal health and wellness programs, support groups, workshops, and community initiatives. Support community outreach efforts to connect mothers and families with relevant services, resources, providers, and programs. Help identify gaps in maternal health and community support and contribute ideas for programs, partnerships, and resources that address those needs. Research local and statewide maternal health resources, social services, benefits, referral options, and community organizations. Assist with building and maintaining community partnerships with healthcare providers, social service organizations, nonprofits, birth workers, mental health professionals, and other maternal wellness providers. Support resource navigation and referral coordination for mothers seeking mental health, postpartum, birth, parenting, wellness, or social support services. Participate in planning and supporting maternal mental health support groups and other community-based programming. Develop educational materials, resource guides, outreach materials, surveys, intake tools, and other resources that support Mom Haven Hub programs. Gain exposure to program development from concept through implementation, including identifying community needs, developing program structure, coordinating resources, and evaluating outcomes. Assist with collecting and organizing program data, participant feedback, community needs information, and other information used to evaluate services and guide future programming. Develop greater understanding of Community Action and Policy (CAP), advocacy, and the systemic factors affecting maternal and family well-being. Participate in appropriate case discussions, supervision, and opportunities for professional reflection and skill development. When appropriate and permitted by the client, supervisor, and academic program, observe select virtual or in-person therapy sessions to gain exposure to maternal mental health clinical practice. Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, ethical standards, and appropriate documentation in accordance with agency and university requirements. Participate in special projects and emerging initiatives related to maternal health, mental health, community engagement, and the continued development of Mom Haven Hub.
