Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support the delivery of exceptional patient care by ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention, sterilization, and clinical hygiene practices. Your proactive approach will help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for both patients and staff. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a fast-paced healthcare setting focused on comprehensive dental and pediatric dentistry services. Responsibilities Assist with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Prepare and manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take and record vital signs, medical imaging, and dental x-rays while adhering to proper safety protocols for radiation exposure. Manage patient management software to schedule appointments, update medical documentation, and facilitate smooth patient flow within the clinic. Maintain dental equipment and ensure all tools are properly sterilized, functioning correctly, and ready for use in four-handed dentistry practices. Support infection prevention management by following clinical confidentiality policies and implementing healthcare infection control expertise across all clinical activities. Requirements Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of dental equipment operation, dental sterilization procedures, and infection control practices including aseptic technique. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation accurately. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with dentists, hygienists, pediatric specialists, and patients of all ages. Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
