Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical flow. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and managing patient comfort throughout visits. Support front desk operations by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling and patient management software tasks. Follow all healthcare infection prevention and control standards to uphold the highest levels of safety for patients and staff. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient medical documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray procedures. Experience in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize clinical efficiency. Familiarity with infection control practices, dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to operate dental instruments and equipment confidently while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is a plus. Excellent communication skills for patient management, explaining treatment plans clearly while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
