Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize advanced medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software while maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical documentation accurately to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to enhance understanding. Support dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols to uphold the highest standards of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Coordinate with the dental reception team to manage patient scheduling, answer inquiries, and facilitate smooth patient management software operations. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures. Knowledge of dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools used in general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral surgery. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and healthcare infection prevention protocols. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred; familiarity with patient management software enhances efficiency. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards for radiation exposure. Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures using clear dental terminology to patients of all ages—including pediatric patients—and collaborating effectively with team members.
