Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained at all times. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding. Conduct vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments and managing medical records efficiently. Maintain infection control standards by following strict sterilization protocols and understanding anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures. Assist with medical imaging tasks and support pediatric patients with specialized care needs in a friendly manner. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology, chairside assisting techniques, and four-handed dentistry practices to enhance workflow efficiency. Skills Strong knowledge of dental assisting practices including aseptic technique, infection control, and anatomy fundamentals. Experience with EMR systems such as Open Dental Familiarity with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics. Excellent communication skills suitable for working with diverse patient populations including children. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical information at all times. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and understanding of general dentistry procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment supporting general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties as needed.
