Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Assist the endodontist during procedures by passing instruments, managing suction, and ensuring patient comfort through chairside assisting techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records and medical documentation within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Open Dental, maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times. Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral health practices, and procedural expectations while addressing their questions with clear dental terminology. Monitor vital signs and assess patient readiness before procedures to ensure safety and comfort during treatments like oral surgery or prosthodontics procedures. Maintain dental equipment, sterilize instruments according to dental sterilization procedures, and uphold strict infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably within Endodontics. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, aseptic technique, and dental instrument processing. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental, XDR, Care Stream. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry practices. Certification in dental x-ray operation and infection control standards; additional certifications in medical terminology or healthcare infection prevention are advantageous. Strong understanding of dental equipment operation. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members like dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals while providing outstanding patient care.
