The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures, patient care, and dental office operations. As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your expertise in dental assisting, technical skills, and compassionate approach will contribute significantly to delivering exceptional dental care in a professional environment. Duties Assist dentists during various clinical procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are readily available. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection prevention protocols. Manage patient records accurately using patient management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency and patient comfort. Conduct vital signs assessment and medical imaging as required for patient evaluation and treatment planning. Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold clinical safety standards. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain procedures using appropriate dental terminology. Support administrative tasks such as dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow within the clinic environment. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times while ensuring compliance with healthcare infection control standards. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure in the respective jurisdiction. Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialty practice such as pediatric dentistry or oral surgery. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar software platforms. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and infection prevention management. Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and medical documentation practices. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining radiation safety standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control policies specific to dental clinics. Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred but not mandatory; a compassionate approach is essential for all age groups.
