Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of general dentistry, as well as familiarity with dental software system, Open Dental. This role is crucial in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Perform X-rays and other diagnostic imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols. Manage medical documentation accurately, including patient records and treatment plans, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the front office with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when necessary. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall dental health. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory and sterilization areas in accordance with infection control standards. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Familiarity with Open Dental Understanding of medical documentation processes, including medical coding practices related to dental procedures. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely and effectively, with appropriate certifications if necessary. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on providing outstanding patient care. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
