Make an Impact Through Community Dental Care AlliedUP Co-op is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Dental Assistant for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a mission-driven community health organization in Fremont. You'll work alongside dentists and the dental care team to provide high-quality oral healthcare to a diverse patient population. This role combines hands-on chairside assisting, patient education, digital X-rays, infection control, and dental office support. What You'll Do Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and patients for dental procedures Provide chairside assistance during examinations and treatments Take digital dental X-rays and photographs Record patient medical and dental histories, vital signs, and visit information Take dental impressions and assist with study casts, temporary restorations, and removable appliances as assigned Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection control, OSHA, and California Dental Board requirements Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care Assist patients with referrals and follow-up appointments Maintain accurate electronic dental records using QSI and/or Epic Coordinate dental lab cases and help maintain supplies, equipment, and inventory Assist with scheduling, phones, and other patient service needs when needed Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming dental environment Travel between West and East Oakland clinic locations as needed What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent Completion of a Dental Assisting Program Dental assisting experience; 2+ years preferred Current California Radiation Safety/X-Ray Certificate Current CPR/BLS certification Strong chairside assisting and infection control skills Comfortable working in a busy community dental environment Strong communication, organization, and patient service skills Experience with dental software/EHR systems; QSI and Epic experience preferred Community or public health experience preferred Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish, Vietnamese, Hindi/Punjabi, Tagalog, and Mandarin preferred) Health & Compliance Requirements Candidates must be able to meet applicable healthcare onboarding and immunization requirements, which may include: MMR vaccination or acceptable documentation/waiver Tdap vaccination or acceptable waiver Annual influenza vaccination or acceptable waiver Hepatitis B series, titers, or acceptable documentation Why AlliedUP Co-op?
