Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, and ensuring all tools meet infection prevention standards. Take high-quality dental X-rays and medical imaging while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation. Perform vital signs assessments and document patient health information to support comprehensive care delivery. Support front desk operations by coordinating appointment scheduling with the dental receptionist and managing patient flow efficiently. Follow strict infection control procedures including dental sterilization protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to general dentistry or pediatric dentistry needs. Maintain dental equipment functionality through routine checks and troubleshooting of dental instruments and technology like the four-handed dentistry setup. Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while providing compassionate patient care tailored to pediatric dentistry or adult patients. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous for seamless patient record management. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices is required to ensure high-quality care delivery. Experience with dental X-ray procedures, including dental radiography techniques for both adults and pediatrics, is necessary. Hands-on experience with dental sterilization procedures, medical imaging equipment, 3D scanners, and dental instruments processing will set you apart.
