Duties Assist pediatric dentists during various surgical and restorative procedures Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized dental instruments and equipment, adhering to strict infection prevention protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, and ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs of pediatric patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort. Operate dental equipment such as digital X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and dental sterilization devices efficiently. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records. Support the dental team with chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Educate patients and guardians on oral health care practices tailored for pediatric dentistry needs. Ensure adherence to infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Qualifications Valid certification as a Dental Assistant/Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure in good standing. Proven experience working within a pediatric dentistry or general dentistry setting, preferably in a surgery center environment. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric care. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including dental sterilization procedures. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment accurately while maintaining patient safety standards. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members. Knowledge of dental instruments processing, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques required for surgical settings.
