Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection prevention management and aseptic technique protocols. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental radiography safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Open Dental ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to promote understanding. Maintain dental equipment, process dental instruments efficiently, and support infection control policies to uphold clinical confidentiality policies. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems like Open Dental or similar patient management software. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and implant procedures involving 3D scanners. Expertise in dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices. Experience with dental x-ray techniques and medical imaging technology while maintaining safety standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort. Familiarity with dental equipment operation including endodontic tools, prosthodontic devices, and digital imaging systems. Excellent patient management skills with a focus on patient care and communication; capable of managing medical documentation and records accurately. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental practice; experience working in a busy dental clinic environment preferred.
