Job Description
Dental Assistant Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and record patient information in Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized dental office environment
- Follow HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy and confidentiality
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices
- Proficiency in using Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient documentation
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Experience with medical imaging techniques, including taking and developing dental x-rays
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
