Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, patient care, and office operations. As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient interactions, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the dental practice. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional dental care while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment for patients. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, orthodontic, prosthodontic, pediatric, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring sterilization and cleanliness standards are met. Take and record vital signs and medical histories to support accurate patient assessment and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Assist with dental imaging procedures including X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation. Maintain a safe and organized clinical environment while adhering to all health and safety regulations. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent credential from an accredited program. Proven experience in general dentistry with familiarity in various specialties such as orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics. Proficiency in dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to dental practice. Experience working with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, team members, and external providers. Ability to perform dental assisting duties efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in medical coding and documentation. Prior experience in a dental clinic setting or as a dental receptionist is advantageous but not mandatory.
