Summary SUMMARY :
Assists Dentist or Dental Hygienist in the performance of their duties and keeps records/documentation.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
:
NOTE:
Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. 1. Assisting duties as outlined by the dental board of California's RDA allowable duties. 2. Makes appointments for patients; keeps records of patient's admissions, results of examinations, dental work performed, and number of patients seen; keeps dental operatory and lab and equipment neat, clean and sanitary. 3. Presents information on dental health to the general public and other staff. 4. Prepares and arranges dental instruments, equipment and accessories on trays ready for use; sterilizes and cares for dental instruments; monitors supply inventory and orders when necessary. 5. Assists in dental laboratory and coordination/organization of dental lab patient cases. 6. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Preferred Education :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Experience :
Two years as Registered Dental Asst with clinical experience within a community health environment.
Required Licenses/Certifications :
Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant in the State of California; BLS

21 The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
