Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed rigorously. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology to aid diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic to ensure accurate documentation of patient visits, medical history, and treatment notes. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain infection control protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards to protect patients and staff. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions in a clear and friendly manner. Stay current with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and emerging technologies to enhance clinical support. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures is essential. Familiarity with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical documentation standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach toward pediatric patients when needed. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and insurance claims. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification is expected.
