  • Rancho Cordova, CA Job Summary Provides professional telephone support to dental program beneficiaries, providers, and representatives by researching and resolving complex inquiries, processing documentation, tracking correspondence, and providing accurate information about program policies, appointments, claims, and treatment authorizations.
Responsibilities Research, resolve, and respond to complex telephone inquiries that cannot be answered immediately. Monitor cycle time reports and process internal documents, including beneficiary information forms, notices of action, claims, treatment authorization requests, and related documents. Respond to beneficiary and representative inquiries regarding program policies, regional screening appointments, treatment authorization notifications, and complaints. Refer callers to appropriate dental providers, agencies, or other resources and reschedule regional screening appointments as needed. Track beneficiary inquiries in the correspondence tracking system. Respond to provider inquiries regarding program policies and procedures, claims and treatment authorization processing, explanation of benefits statements, payments, patient history, and enrollment status. Track provider inquiries in the correspondence tracking system. Complete additional projects and duties as assigned. Requirements Dental assisting certificate from an accredited dental assisting school or at least two years of dental assisting experience in a dental office. Successful completion of required dental auditing and X-ray reading assessments. At least one year of communication experience. Knowledge of dental billing procedures, claims adjudication, applicable regulations, dental codes, procedures, and practices preferred. Knowledge of dental anatomy, physiology, pathology, and dental office terminology. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage detailed work. Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and frequent interruptions. Skill Strong verbal and written communication. Problem-solving and reasoning. Basic mathematics and computer proficiency. Customer service and contact management. Stress management. Summary Qualification Dental assisting education or relevant dental office experience. Experience handling telephone inquiries and customer concerns. Ability to interpret dental information and explain policies and procedures clearly. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage confidential information, interruptions, and multiple priorities.
