Job Summary Medical Professionals is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join a community-based dental clinic in San Jose, CA. This hands-on position provides chairside support to dentists while assisting with patient care, dental X-rays, sterilization, treatment room preparation, inventory, patient education, and other dental office responsibilities. The ideal candidate has strong general dentistry experience, excellent patient service skills, and is comfortable working with a diverse patient population in a busy community health environment.

Schedule and Pay Schedule:

Full-time, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with evening availability required and rotating Saturdays.

$27.00-$29.00 per hour

Non-RDA Pay:

$24.00-$26.00 per hour

Compensation Review:

Merit-based assessment approximately 6-8 months into employment. Key Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance to dentists during examinations, treatments, and dental procedures. Prepare patients and set up and break down treatment rooms before and after procedures. Clean, sterilize, and prepare dental instruments while following established infection-control procedures. Take dental X-rays as needed and perform duties within applicable licensure requirements. Monitor dental supplies and inventory and assist with ordering to maintain adequate stock. Educate patients regarding oral health, dental care, and post-treatment instructions. Provide occasional front desk coverage and assist with patient and community outreach as needed. Deliver professional, patient-focused service while working effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma. Dental Assistant Certificate in good standing. Current X-ray license. At least 5 years of Dental Assistant experience in general dentistry . Strong chairside assisting experience. Experience with sterilization, infection control, and maintaining dental treatment areas. Experience with dental inventory and ordering. Strong patient education and customer service skills. Ability and willingness to assist with front desk duties and patient/community outreach as needed. Experience working effectively with diverse patient populations. Knowledge of and ability to relate to the American Indian community and other minority populations. Ability and willingness to work evening hours. Current California driver's license and automobile insurance. Must possess or attain a coronal polishing certificate. If not currently an RDA, must be willing to work toward RDA licensure. Professional, dependable, patient-focused approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a dental team. Preferred Qualifications Previous public health or community health experience. English/Spanish bilingual skills.
