Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of clinical procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and aseptic techniques are followed. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate medical imaging devices such as 3D scanners with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct patient management tasks including vital signs measurement, medical documentation, and explaining procedures to alleviate patient anxiety. Maintain infection prevention standards through dental sterilization procedures and infection control practices aligned with healthcare guidelines. Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow as a dental receptionist, and handling general inquiries with professionalism. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment; familiarity with dental assisting techniques is essential. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and patient data. Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and clinical procedures including X-ray technology and oral surgery assistance. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols to ensure patient safety. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while demonstrating excellent communication skills with patients of all ages—especially pediatrics. Familiarity with healthcare infection control policies, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards. Certification in dental radiography or X-ray technology is preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are advantageous.
