Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various dental procedures. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques. Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software while ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to monitor patient health status before procedures. Provide comprehensive patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and medical records with integrity. Support the dental team with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and coordinating with the dental receptionist for seamless clinic operations. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or comparable software for efficient patient management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and clinical procedures including dental sterilization protocols. Familiarity with infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Ability to perform dental instrument processing accurately while maintaining aseptic technique standards. Excellent communication skills for effective patient management and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry as well as medical terminology for comprehensive patient assessment.
