Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy Support infection control protocols through proper sterilization procedures and dental instrument processing Assist with dental equipment operation, including 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools, while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, along with familiarity with patient management software Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while following safety standards for dental x-ray procedures Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and healthcare professionals Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental equipment operation is highly desirable Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
