JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Dental Assistant (DA) serves as a chairside dental assistant to the Dentist(s) or Dental Hygienist(s). Responsibilities include preparing operatory for patient treatment, taking digital dental radiographs, accurate recording and documentation of patient records, and educating patients on dental disease prevention. This position also provides emergency back-up telephone coverage, appointment scheduling and payment program documentation in front office. Position is based out of Sebastopol, CA, but shifts at our Guerneville location are required. Schedule is 8:30am - 5:00pm.

•California Infection Control Certification required

• DUTIES Provide chairside dental assistance Setup, breakdown and disinfection of dental operatories and laboratory Complete instrument processing/sterilization Monitor and reinforce patient comfort Take and pour dental impressions Coordinate incoming and outgoing laboratory cases Take digital radiographs Track inventory control procedures and restock materials in dental operatories Document procedures in patient electronic record Maintain hand pieces, x-ray equipment, tray setups, autoclave Provide emergency back-up telephone coverage, appointment scheduling and payment program documentation in front office Facilitate and conduct visits via video technology to enhance care coordination and access to care. CAMBRA REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from accredited Dental Assisting School preferred OR 2 years on the job experience. Radiology license Infection Control Course for Unlicensed Dental Assistants Dental Board of CA accredited course of 8 hours Infection control Dental Board of CA accredited course in Dental Practice act Current BLS (CPR) certification

EXPERIENCE

Experience in a dental office or working with a dental clinic preferred Dental practice management software knowledge (Dentrix, Dexis, and eCW Dental) preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology is essential for effective communication with healthcare professionals. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and staff alike. Proficiency in using office software and electronic health record systems is beneficial.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to move freely about the office and carry light loads (up to 25 pounds) Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job. Prolonged standing and/ or sitting required. Ability to interface with electronic office equipment for extended periods of time.
