Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant (Bi-lingual, Spanish) to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will support dentists and hygienists by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinical operations, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection prevention management procedures. Assist dentists during various procedures, ensuring all instruments are ready and properly handed. Take dental x-rays using digital imaging technology, while adhering to dental sterilization procedures. Manage patient records accurately using patient management software ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Provide chairside assistance by managing dental instruments, suctioning, and maintaining proper aseptic techniques throughout procedures. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and answer questions related to dental terminology and procedures. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry and x-ray Proficiency in EMR systems such as Softdent, familiarity with patient management software is preferred. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Knowledge of dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, dental instruments, and oral surgery tools. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical terminology clearly to patients of all ages. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is highly desirable; knowledge of medical terminology is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment practicing four-handed dentistry techniques when needed.
