Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and verifying patient information using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote ongoing care and compliance Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while documenting medical history, vital signs, and other medical documentation accurately in patient management software Requirements Valid certification as a Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure where applicable Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is preferred Strong understanding of infection control practices including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and other dental imaging tools Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral surgery procedures Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and clinical staff Join us in delivering exceptional patient care through your expertise in dental assisting!
