Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, supporting dentists during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position offers an engaging environment where clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to infection control are highly valued. The Registered Dental Assistant will be responsible for chairside assisting, patient education, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records, all while adhering to HIPAA regulations and best practices in infection prevention. Duties RDA assists dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency. Registered Dental Assistant prepares treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and proper sterilization protocols are followed. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring patient safety and image quality. Obtain vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care planning. Maintain accurate electronic medical records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Provide patient education on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions clearly and professionally. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe clinical environment. Assist with medical coding and documentation for insurance claims or billing processes related to dental procedures. Stay informed about advancements in dental technology and terminology to enhance service delivery. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical imaging techniques, and anatomy relevant to dental care. Experience performing X-ray procedures in compliance with safety standards. Understanding of infection control practices specific to dental clinics. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with patients, team members, and external providers. Certification or licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is required; additional training in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics is advantageous.
